Christmas 2007

I hope everyone had a great holiday and I have to say that I'm kind of glad it's over. We had a great time but it was a busy one! We started off with our traditional Xmas train and Santa outing with my friend Jennifer and her kids but both of us forgot our cameras (really our husbands forgot the cameras) and then Paul and I took the kids to ride the North Pole Express in Fillmore -- complete with PJs, chocolate milk, cookies and Santa! The kids loved it! Paul and my Mom wouldn't wear their jammies though. Everytime Kyle saw Santa this year he would get right in his face and tell him very loudly that he wanted a firetruck for Xmas -- he wanted to make sure that Santa heard him and would get it right!

The kids had their holiday performances and parties at school and Lucas had an ancestor feast and brought his grandma to school for the feast. Post-school we really cranked it into high gear with our annual tamale making -- over 300 tamales this year! It's a ton of work but Lucas loves it and he is becoming quite the tamale maker.

We had a terrific Xmas eve with Paul's family and friends and then my family on Xmas day. Lucas got a train from Santa (another one!), Austin a Nintendo DS and Kyle (the fire fighter that he is) received a ride-on firetruck which he loves.

Shortly after Xmas Paul turned 40 and I threw him a surprise dinner -- no photos to share here and you probably don't want to see them anyway! He was surprised and I'll just say he thoroughly enjoyed turning 40! Lucas just got back from visiting his grandparents with his cousin Sara in Colorado for a week and had the best time!

Now we're ready to start the New Year -- Kyle and Austin are sick, Paul and I will be traveling and then planning for Lucas turning 8 years old at the end of the month!
